Product live visitor count
Drive urgency with live visitor count on your product pages. You can show e.g. “3 people are viewing this product right now” to boost FOMO or combine with low inventory to create further urgency like “Only 3 left - 14 people are viewing this right now”.
Using Shopify's native web pixel tracking, this metafield will automatically update with the number of visitors currently viewing the product page. Each visitor to a product page gets an internal timestamp, which times out after 30 minutes of inactivity, unless the user has interacted with the page in the meantime. As a result, the metafield is a count of the number of unique visitors that have interacted with the product page in the last 30 minutes.
